The Cloncurry Stockman's Challenge and Campdraft is an annual campdrafting and challenge event celebrating the talent and passion of horsemen and is regarded as one of the greatest horse events in Australia. The Challenge is an elite and prestigious event, drawing competitors from all states in to a fierce and thrilling competition. The Challenge originated in Cloncurry in 1983 and involves 'wet' and 'dry' work that includes competitors and horses completing patterns including manoeuvres such as flying changes, roll backs, spins and stops. The competitor and horse are also required to complete cattle work to demonstrate a variety of skills.
