Write Around the Murray (WAM) is an annual celebration of reading, writing, illustration and storytelling. It is an opportunity for readers, writers, artists and storytellers of all genres to share stories and develop knowledge and skills. The range of activities includes a festival dinner, literary lunch, workshops, author talks, panel sessions, short story competitions, children's activities and a wood-fired oven event by the river. The five day festival takes place in early September and includes a three day schools program.
Write Around the Murray (WAM) is held in the vibrant regional city of Albury on the Murray River. It is the only exclusively literary based festival that operates in the region, with events taking place in and around the architecturally stunning and award-winning Albury LibraryMuseum and nearby venues.
